How I learn best

I have been spending some time thinking about how I learn. Here are what I think to be the main ingredients to my own learning.

  • Strong interest - I learn better, if I am interested in it. [ I actually love learning new things.]
  • Opportunity to collaborate and discuss - I have to talk about it. [Sometimes driving people crazy;)] You gain a lot of insight from other people's point of view.
  • Take a break - Sometimes you just need to step back and relax to let things soak in. Other times after a break, you come back with fresh eyes and something that seemed so difficult all of a sudden is easy.

How do you learn best?
Think about when you have learned something very well. It doesn’t have to be school related. Tell me what it is that helps you to learn.

I learn best when I am really interested in the subject. I also learn by watching things being done. I learn better by seeing, but do not learn much when things are just talked about. I hate reading about things because I usually don't remember what I've read. Music sometimes helps. I don't know why, but it does.

I learn best when I like the subject and when it's hands on.
